Hey guys, this is one of those once in a life-time chances to be part of the "BIGGEST" and "COOLEST" events that you'll ever have. There are tons of "COOL" activities, spectacular shows, interactive displays, a merit badge midway, many more adventures, and a life-time of great memories. Plus a celebration of Scouting's 100th anniversary!

Gateway for the Southern Region of the 2005 National Jamboree.Every four years, the National Council of the Boy Scouts of America organizes the ultimate Boy Scout experience, the National Jamboree! It is a National encampment that brings together Boy Scouts, Varsity Scouts, and adult leaders from throughout the country, along with visiting Scouts from other parts of the world. The BSA announced that the next Jamboree is scheduled in 2010 to coincide with the 100th birthday (centennial anniversary) of the Boy Scouts of America!  Yes, it will have been 100 years since an Unkown Scout helped an American businessman, William D. Boyce, find his way through London.  This simple, selfless act led Mr. Boyce to bring the fledgling movement of Boy Scouting to America in 1910

A photograph of one of the Scout tents at the 2005 National Jamboree of the Boy Scouts of America. Image used with permission. It will be an exciting time for Scouts as the National Scout Jamboree approaches. The 2010 jamboree in Caroline County, Virginia, marks the 18th time the Boy Scouts of America has gathered for this national celebration of Scouting. The jamboree site will once again be at Fort A.P. Hill utilizing some 12,000 of the 76,000 acres of this military base. The year 2010 will also mark the centennial celebration for Boy Scouts coming to the United States, which can only add to the experience. Needless to say, I too am caught up in this same excitement.
With this in mind what is the purpose of a National Jamboree?
