Chris Dunford has graciously agreed to be the new District Training Committee Chairman for the Long Cane District.  He has served several years as our District Popcorn Chairman.  Scouting is nothing new to Chris; he was a Cub Scout and his mother was a "Den Mother."

Chris is keeping active in Scouting by also serving as a Wolf Den Leader in Cub Scout Pack 154, where not only does his wife, Mary Ann, also serve as a Wolf Den Leader; but their two sons are active in Scouting --- one in the Cub Scout Pack, the other has just become a Boy Scout!  Chris has been actively involved in Cub Scout Pack 154 since 2004, where he has served in a variety of leadership positions.

Dunford has served as the Unit Popcorn Kernel for his pack, as well as chair the Pack's Pinewood Derby.  Pack 154 has received the Centennial Quality Unit Award and Summertime Pack Award every year since 2005!

On the district and council levels, Chris has been a volunteer for the Cub Scout Day Camp since 2006, the District Pinewood Derby for the past three years, and has been the District Popcorn Kernel (Chairman) for the past four years!  He has also served as a leader during the Cub / Parent Weekends for the past two years.

Chris Dunford has participated in several training programs, including Woodbadge.  He was recently honored with the District Award of Merit at the District's annual Awards Banquet in January of 2009.  He also received the Cub Scouter Training Award at the June, 2008 Roundtable.  Professionally, Chris works in Human Resource Management with the Goodrich Corporation.
